Fujinon Premier PL Cine zoom lenses are as fast as most Primes and just as sharp. They speed up production by reducing time spent changing lenses.
Fujinon Premier zoom lenses were designed for the latest generation of high resolution digital cameras. Up to now, for scenes requiring high speed or highest quality, cinematographers used prime lenses. The need for speed might have meant wide open aperture, but not always speedy lens changes, especially on a rig or crane.
Now, Fujinon has a new set of four 4K+ PL mount zooms, and two of them open up to T2.0. That is territory previously occupied only by Primes. Our 18-85 mm T2.0 zoom is an all-purpose zoom encompassing the most-used focal length range for the majority of dramatic studio and location scenes.
Fujinon Premier Zooms are designed for the highest performance cameras. They exhibit minimal breathing when focusing. Image quality is consistent and repeatable. Coatings and elements of all lenses are consistently color matched. The 280 degree focus barrel rotation ensures an expanded focus scale, with accurate and consistent marks.
Each lens is similar in size and weight, with uniform gear placement that facilitates quick lens changes. Adjustable flange focal depth eliminates the need for shims on all four Premier zooms.
Fujinon 14.5-45mm and 18-85mm Premier zooms have a maximum aperture of T2.0. The set of four zooms covers 14.5mm to 400mm. That’s an all-encompassing range, well beyond a complete set of primes.
